They also happen to have some of the highest price tags. While it’s worth it to pay for a good pair of running sunglasses, not all sunglasses are worth their price tag. Oakley has a reputation for being high priced, high performance sunglasses and there’s a reason for that. Oakley has spent millions of dollars in R&D work to create their own unique materials for quality construction and design. And the Oakley Half Jacket sunglasses are the flagship pair for outdoor sports sunglasses. The Half Jacket features their patented rubberized material (called Unobtanium) that securely grips the nose and the sides of the head and it won’t slip no matter how sweaty or wet you get. They also have removable lenses for different lighting conditions that all come with an Iridium coating that drastically cuts down on glare and improves contrast making running more about running and less about trying to see where you’re going . The frame (made from a material dubbed O Matter) is extremely lightweight and light stress resistant which makes it great for long term use. The Nike Impel Swift sunglasses are at the top of the list for both performance as well as price (they always seem to go hand in hand don’t they?) The Swift glasses are excellent for a wide range of uses. The tint is designed to work well with both low light as well as bright conditions so if you’re starting out before the sun comes out, you won’t mind wearing these when the sun finally does hit. And because there’s minimal contact with the head and the frames themselves are very lightweight, you’ll barely notice that you’re wearing them at all. These are great sunglasses to wear both while running and during every day use (if you’ve got the dough).

The Adidas Supernova running sunglasses are by and far the most lightweight and visibility enhance sunglasses on the market. They have a single ultra-wide rimless lens that gives you complete periphery visibility. In addition, the extra curvature hugs the face nicely to provide a comfortable fit but also complete protection for wind, bugs, rain, and anything else you might encounter (not to mention the sun). The lens, which is prescription ready, has a special anti-fog coating that eliminates any sort of fogging issues you might get in humid climates.
